elsyportraitElsy Mecklembourg Guibert, a Certified Public Health Specialist, is dedicated to helping communities in need. Through a non-profit organization she founded in 1998, EMG Health Communications, Elsy helps many people move from hopelessness to hopefulness to productive lives. Her work consists of counseling and educating those in need of support and resources.

Elsy’s focus is on disease prevention like AIDS and breast cancer through education. She develops positive educational messages while mitigating misinformation and dispelling various myths surrounding an endless host of beliefs. Her greatest accomplishment was in 2000 when she advocated for a mother whose teenage daughter was dying of AIDS in New York, a humanitarian visa from the United States Consulate [in Haiti] was granted.  A bitter sweet story whereas the mother was able to cuddle her first baby girl for a last time and returned home before her visa expired.

Elsy has received numerous awards for her compassion, commitment, and dedication to service in the field of breast health care: 2003- Gay Clark Stoddard Memorial Award ; 2004- Long Island Herald’s “Person of the Year: Crusader for a Better Tomorrow”; 2006- nominated “Legislative Ambassador” to the US Congress by the American Cancer Society; 2006 - Community Service Award from North Brooklyn YMCA; June 2008- Cultural Ambassador title by Kompa Guide. Elsy’s vision is to work toward building an environment that is not only safe and healthy but also conducive to helping people make informed choices.
