Elmont’s Belmont Stakes Parade: Assembly at 9:30 AM in the South Parking lot at Belmont Park. Step-off will be at 10:00 AM. The Parade will proceed down Hempstead Turnpike to the Alva T. Stanforth Sports Complex next to the Elmont Memorial Library. Participants include Fire Departments, Police Department, Schools, Civic Associations, Veteran Groups, Churches, Children’s Sports Groups, Charitable Organizations, Businesses, and other Community Groups, featuring Marching Bands, the Belmont Starting Gate, and Sam the Bugler.
Family Field Day: produced by Gateway Youth Outreach. Immediately following the parade at ATS Sports Complex the key to Elmont will be presented to this year’s Grand Marshall, Norma DeBartolo. Family Field Day will run from 11AM to 2PM - it will consist of games, races, a bouncy house and face painting. Cook-out style hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided by Applebee’s. In the past, over 400 Elementary School children have participated.
Rotary Club Arts and Craft Fair: runs from 9am till 5pm, and there will be about 60 vendors with a wide variety of items being sold as well as food vendors from the Elmont Farmer's Market.
Sunday June 3rd
Belmont Stakes Blue Ribbon 5K Run for Prostate Cancer: presented by Integrated Medical Foundation. The Race begins at 7:15 PM and will end on the Belmont Park Racetrack Finish Line. After-Party will feature food from Applebee's and eight local restaurants and bakeries. A flyer is attached to this email.
Wednesday June 6th
Invest in Elmont: A Chamber sponsored entrepreneur competition where student teams submit business ideas and write business plans on how they would “Invest in Elmont”. At the end of the Film Festival, the Invest in Elmont winner will be announced. The winner of Invest in Elmont receives a $5,000 scholarship.
