Elmont - Jan 1 - The 3rd Annual Black History Month celebration featuring performances by Elmont Schools, churches and SUNY Stony Brook Gospel Choir is scheduled for February 12, 2006 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Clara H. Carlson School, 235 Belmont Blvd., Elmont, NY 11003. The event is hosted by the Elmont Online Project, Elmont Community Awareness Program and Elmont School District. The event is free and open to the public.
The mission of the Elmont Online Project is to enrich the lives of Elmont’s residents and visitors, to foster understanding among all cultures and to stimulate appreciation for the diversity of the Elmont experience. The site accomplishes its mission by inspiring the public to explore and embrace other cultural traditions.
