CONWANGO — State police say they've identified the person who fired a round that pierced a school bus full of children in southwestern New York.
Troopers say a Randolph School District bus driver on Route 241 near Conewango in Cattaraugus County heard what sounded like a firecracker during his Monday morning run and pulled over. Police determined that a bullet had gone through the door and lodged in the roof behind the driver. None of the 35 students on board nor the driver were hurt.
State police are withholding the name of the person who fired the gun until a news conference Wednesday morning. It was not clear if the shooter will face charges.
