NY minister to live among homeless for week

BUFFALO -- The Rev. Eric Johns is beginning another week on the streets of Buffalo and Niagara Falls to draw attention to the plight of the homeless and collect donations.

For the past 13 years, the Buffalo minister has spent part of each holiday season sleeping outside and in shelters and eating in soup kitchens for his Boxes of Love campaign, which distributes food and toys to needy families.

He'll live as a homeless person from Monday through Saturday. He hopes to raise enough money to feed 3,000 families this Christmas and distribute 5,000 wrapped gifts.
