NY dance teacher convicted of student sexual abuse

QUEENSBURY -- An upstate New York dance teacher has been convicted of sexually abusing a young boy who was one of his students.

The Glens Falls Post-Start reports that a Warren County jury found 49-year-old Timothy McGuire guilty Monday of both charges against him, course of sexual conduct against a child, a felony, and misdemeanor sexual abuse.

He was accused of repeatedly sexually abusing the boy from the time he was 6 until he was 14.

During his trial, McGuire denied having sexual contact with the boy.

McGuire ran the Tim McGuire Dance Centre in Glens Falls for 30 years.

Sentencing is set for Nov. 30.
