STUYVESANT -- Federal wildlife officials are offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information about the shooting of a young bald eagle along the Hudson River.
The eagle was found last Wednesday with a fractured wing and other injuries from a shotgun blast at the Nutten Hook State Unique Area in northern Columbia County. The bird was transferred to the Animal Hospital in Slingerlands near Albany for emergency care and rehabilitation.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking the public's help. They're offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the shooter.
Bald eagles are protected by federal and state law.
