Life after state layoffs

PEF workers targeted for layoff are preparing for life outside state employment. Jobs offered by non-profits pay little more than half the state rate says one person on the layoff list; A Colonie grandmother on the list helps support her daughter and grandchild. An IT worker will lose medical benefits used for family health problems. All say it will be a tough slog to be without the pay and benefits offered by the state.
