HAMPTON BAYS -- Some green sea turtles are back at home in ocean waters after a rehabilitation stint on Long Island.
The four turtles were released back into the wild on Saturday by volunteers from the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation.
Newsday reports the turtles were rescued off the East End of Long Island in November (http://bit.ly/qd8SJx ) suffering from cold-stunning. That's when the animals are exposed to water temperatures that are too cold. The cold-blooded reptiles can't regulate their own body temperatures and stop eating and swimming.
