Teen Substance Abuse is Top U.S. Health Concern, Study Finds

Ninety percent of alcoholics and drug addicts in the U.S. started drinking or using drugs before age 18, reports a new study by the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA). Teens are more at risk for developing addictive behavior than adults. People who begin using drugs or alcohol before age 15 are six-and-a-half times more likely to develop a substance abuse problem than those who delay use until age 21 or older.
