Vice presidential run talk just silly, governor says

ALBANY -- Appearing Tuesday in Erie County, Gov. Andrew Cuomo dismissed the idea that he'll be the vice presidential candidate in 2012 as "political chatter and silliness."

"We want to stay focused on doing the good work of the people of the state," Cuomo said after his third ceremonial signing of the property tax cap.

The idea was the subject of a Monday column by the New York Post's Fred Dicker in which former state Republican chair William Powers said a call from President Barack Obama would come by the end of this year to replace Vice President Joe Biden.
