Nassau County GOP Ask Judge To Recuse Himself

Nassau Republicans asked State Supreme Court Justice Steven Jaeger to recuse himself as judge in the Lawsuit against the GOP redistricting plan on Thursday.  The case is delayed until Tuesday and the judge gave Democrats until 5 pm today to respond in writing.  Peter Bee, lead counsel for the Republicans did not say why he was requesting the recusal.

It is believed that the GOP request emanates from a well known and fully disclosed fact that Judge Jaeger had been an attorney for a Democratic elections commissioner in 1994.

Interestingly, this objection was not lodged in early May when the case was first brought before the court.  Maybe, the GOP after hearing, but not listening to the nearly universal outcry to not crack and pack minority Legislative Districts from believe they must now "shop for their judge" to get the outcome the desire.  Does this worry you?  Stay tuned.
