GARDEN CITY, NY (March 13, 2011) – Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY04), who voted for and helped pass 16 tax cuts for small businesses in the 111th Congress, is hosting a forum to help her constituents learn about and take advantage of the breaks.
The forum will be held at the Elmont Memorial Public Library (700 Hempstead Tpke.) on Friday, March 25 at 8:15 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP by emailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Representatives from the IRS and the NYS Small Business Development Center will be on hand to explain the new cuts and how local small businesses can use them
“Small businesses and entrepreneurs are the engine of our economy on Long Island,” Rep. McCarthy said. “At this critical point on our nation’s road to recovery, we have to do everything we can to pave the way for them to grow and prosper. During the 111th Congress, we passed 16 tax cuts for small businesses. This forum will enable my constituents to better understand how to take advantage of these tax cuts available to them.”
