A recent survey of 2,140 Ontario youth aged 15 to 17 revealed that more than one-third (34.9 percent) gamble for money. The Responsible Gambling Council of Canada reports that 40 percent of Ontario teens play poker, 39 percent buy raffle tickets, and 11 percent gamble online. While most gambled for entertainment, 20.7 percent said they gambled because they needed money and 15.3 percent wanted to win back lost money.
