Increase in Teen Brain Injuries Has Doctors Concerned

A recent study by Brown University confirmed that the number of emergency room visits for teen concussions has tripled over the last ten years. Team sports--including football, basketball, baseball, hockey, and soccer--were responsible for more than 38% of the injuries. Researchers are not sure if concussions are becoming more common, or if teen athletes are not receiving the proper treatment for sports-related brain injuries.
