The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) reported that approximately 143,000 young people aged 12 to 17 used inhalants during the past year while they had pneumonia, bronchitis, asthma, or sinusitis. Using inhalants can cause serious damage to your brain, lungs, and vital organs, and can even kill you—and the risks may be even greater for teens with respiratory conditions that make breathing difficult.
