3-on-3 Tournament Recap

3on3 Attendees Gather for PhotoIt’s become one of the most anticipated days in the Summer in the Elmont, Franklin Square and greater Floral Park and South Floral park communities. It’s the annual 3-on-3 Tournament held at the Dutch Broadway School. This year’s tournament was a spectacular exhibition of basketball, soccer and football that brought out thousands to cheer on and play in games on Saturday, July 16th.

Basketball, Soccer and Football Competitions Have Community PUMPED P!

028Final preparations for the annual 3-on-3 Basketball tournament being held at Elmont’s Dutch Broadway School on Saturday, July 16th have kicked into high gear. The site of the tourney is Dutch Broadway School which is located at 1880 Dutch Broadway, Elmont. The raindate for the tournament is Sunday, July 17th. Tournament organizers are very excited over community support and the response of teams entering into the contests. The tournament is played in memory of David Dangerfield a fallen NYC firefighter whose work within the community in sports and education was widely respected.

Martins Announces 3-on-3 Tournament July 16th at Dutch Broadway School!

3on3 2010State Senator Jack Martins and the 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament committee announced that the 7th annual 3-on-3 tournament will be played on Saturday, July 16th at Dutch Broadway School in Elmont at the Assemblyman Tom Alfano basketball courts located in the rear of the school. A raindate has been scheduled for July 17th. The tournament is free and there is no cost to participate.

Elmont's "Haitian Sensation" Herve Duroseau Honored

He has been called Elmont’s “Haitian Sensation,” “The Hit Man” and “Vicious Vey,” but the most important name that Elmont resident Herve Duroseau cherishes is the name “Dad.”

Golden GloveThis past Monday, Herve “Haitian Sensation” Duroseau was honored by State Senator Jack Martins for capturing the NY Daily News Golden Gloves boxing match in Madison Square Garden  this past April. Duroseau was invited to the State Capitol where he was honored on the floor of the New York State Senate with a legislative resolution sponsored by Martins and Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos.

“This is a great day for Herve, Nathalie and Elmont,” said State Senator Jack Martins noting, “I join the entire Elmont community in congratulating my friend Herve who has not only brought home the golden gloves, but has shown everybody in New York that Elmont has one of the greatest young men to ever step in ring!”

Senators Martins and Fuschillo Make Good on Elmont Spartan Basketball Bet!

LunchA friendly wager between two State Senators was settled at Elmont Memorial High School with fanfare and good food this past Friday. Senator Jack Martins’ and Senator Chuck Fuschillo’s bet over the Nassau County Championship Basketball title was settled in full at the Elmont Memorial High School cafeteria in front of a standing room only crowd.
