Teen Workforce on the Decline

The teen workforce has been in a steady decline since 1978, with only around 40 percent of 16 to 19 year olds currently holding a part- or full-time job. The economic recession isn’t helping, and many teens are competing with older, more experienced applicants. For teens in a tight job market, internships are a good way to get work experience.
