Teen TV Viewing Linked to Adult Depression

A new study finds that teens who watch more television per day are at a higher risk for depression in adulthood. So what is the connection? Researchers believe the content on TV has an affect on your mental state--commercials dwell on the fact that life isn't perfect, and depressing events seen on TV can bring you down. Another theory is that TV viewing takes the place of social, intellectual, or athletic activities that can prevent depression.
