Assemblyman Tom Alfano saluted Elmont's own Winston Waters II for his achieving the Intel Award Semi-Finalist award in Albany today. Governor Paterson invited Waters to the State's Capitol for a special salute of all the Statewide Intel Award winners. Alfano attended the reception with Principal John Capozzi, Supt. Warren Meierdiercks and Winston's parents Winston and Miriam. Assemblyman Alfano honored Waters for his achievement and presented Waters with an Assembly Proclamation. "Winston has made all of Elmont proud. His work with the Elmont Memorial Science Research project is truly groundbreaking and cutting edge. He has a very bright future ahead of him," Alfano said.
