Elmont Memorial HS Homecoming Day

emhs_pride

Leading the parade along Dutch Broadway were members of the American Legion followed closely by the Elmont Memorial’s Administration, Superintendent of Schools Warren Meierdiercks, various school clubs, PTSA members and community residents.

The Elmont Elementary District was lead by district Superintendent of Schools, Al Harper, and faculty from the several elementary schools in the community.

Of course homecoming is about the floats, homecoming kings, queens, football games and great food.  Elmont Memorial, a school sited in 2007 by The Shott Foundation for the high graduation rates of its black male students, exhibited why such recognition is in order and why all students who apply themselves can do well.  Kings and Queens were elegant; floats were colorful, funny and thoughtful.  Homecoming was indeed "The Greatest Show on Earth”.

Also in attendance were County Executive Tom Suozzi, County Legislator John Ciotti, Town Councilman Edward A. AmbrosinoCarrie Solages, a candidate for Nassau County Clerk and Elmont resident, was also in attendance.
