Tia Sophia dies at 111

Tia SophiaTia Sophia died yesterday at the age of 111. Some Elmont residents know Tia Sophia through the eyes and heart of her niece, Francina Roman.  It was just last Friday when Francina, with admiration spoke to me about her aunt.  Francina was emotional as she described Tia Sophia's role in her life “she ... she is my aunt ... we are planning her 112 birthday celebration next month,” and as if she knew something she continued “I hope she is still with us.”

There was a blending of love and celebration and pride and sadness in Francina’s eyes as she continued “My aunt", she said "is a proud lady and smart too." Francina recalls that Tia Sophia passed her citizenship exam during the Clinton presidency, well after her 90th birthday.  After listening to Francina you cannot miss the fact that Tia Sophia was a central figure in her life and someone who loved life and loved her niece.

Tia Sophia was born in the island nation of The Dominican Republic and was the longest living Dominican until yesterday.  Tia Sophia passed peacefully with Francina by her side.  The Elmont Online Community extends condolences to the Roman family.

This drop in the male hormone presumably makes the dad more family-oriented and less likely to stray, say the Northwestern University team.

Testosterone increases a man's sex drive and helps him compete for a mate.
