Elmont Online

On Friday, August 6, 2010 primary candidate hopeful Patrick Nicolosi found out something even he could not believe.  In a cruel twist of faith marked by a thinly veiled reliance on hyper-technical affidavit oversight (maybe) and marginally clever legal maneuvering, attorneys for Craig Johnson, a NYS Senator, and Mimi Pierre-Johnson the presumptive democratic candidate for 21^st Assembly district ousted his attorney and left Nicolosi fending for himself in an openly hostile courtroom.  A courtroom in which he was on several occasions bullied into near silence.  It was repulsive to see a Citizen reduced to raising his hand, as if in a first grade classroom, to ask a question; make a point or otherwise “be heard”.  As the Citizen, with the threat of jail looming, sat silent the professional wordsmiths, lawyers for the sitting Senator Craig Johnson and Mimi Pierre-Johnson, took hold of democracy and justice and ripped them both limb from limb.

As I see it, Johnson and Johnson and the Nassau Democrats have a simple game plan - invalidate the legitimate candidacy of a Citizen in favor of the party’s insider nominee.  As I see it by invalidating Nicolosi’s candidacy Johnson and Johnson and the Democratic Party engine get to bury the real story, a story of prima fascia fraud, forgery and conspiracy to disenfranchise another community of color on Long Island.  No LEGAL training required – just commonsense.  Review some of documents for yourself here later.  These are the documents the party machine is willing to keep hidden while Johnson and Johnson emails us about things they have done for us.  Things like:

• The NYC MTA bailout tax which local small business owners now pay while Elmont bus services are in jeopardy.  Where is the bailout for the N6 on Elmont Road;
• The $100,000 promised but not delivered to the Sewanhaka Central High School District for restoration of bus services to Private School Children.  We taxpayers are footing the bill now;
• The almost $150,000 promised but not delivered to the Elmont Union Free School District;
• The $100,000 promised but not delivered to the Elmont Public Library; and
• The countless $$$$ promised but not delivered to a variety of other local community organizations

Sadly, several of the promised but not delivered dollars were spent in anticipation of Johnson’s money and sadly, most of that money will have to be recouped by RAISING TAXES, the very tax Johnson “voted to cap”.

The vote to cap school tax increases is Senator Johnsons’ most recent “accomplishment”, however, he knows the bill has a snowballs’ chance in hell for passage. His affirmative vote shows no courage or thought, instead it's politics as usual, nothing more than sexy election year rhetoric.  I would like to point out that public school voters already have the ability to cap school tax increases – it’s called voting.  The third Tuesday in May all voting age adult can walk, run or drive to a polling station and vote no to the school budget.

The list goes on, however, for your information the Johnson promised dollars preceeded the recession by several years, and pointing his finger at the recent Governor’s vetoes simply will not survive scrutiny.

What is delivered are tens of thousands of dollars to GYO that is now being distributed through Mimi Pierre-Johnson for “beautification” of a parking lot (or two) in Argo Village.  New plant pots, on privately owned absentee landlord properties.  Funny, new plant pots on cracked asphalt with weed in between.  Is that Mimi Pierre-Johnson’s idea of community revitalization and what is the message to the young people she paid with Craig Johnson’s dollars to put the pots in the parking lots?   It’s OK to cover up a festering sore with a rose! Beautification Uh!  Let’s not delude ourselves.

As Mimi advocates on one hand the removal of Elmont properties from the tax rolls in favor of churches whose constituents are primarily from the five boroughs of New York City she, on the other hand is putting plant pots on absentee landlord cracked weed infested pavements in our neighborhood.  When all is said and done, we may end up with a senator who will continue to vote with NYC Senators to the detriment of our Long Island communities and an Assemblyperson in Mimi Pierre-Johnson who will use her position as assemblyperson to raise taxes by supporting disinterested not-for-profit entities who take will take advantage of our tax dollars.

So back to the Citizen who wants to primary Mimi Pierre-Johnson.  Today at 2:15PM (August 10, 2010) Nicolosi goes to Mineola where in the NYS Supreme Court Building he will again face the Johnson and Johnson attorneys (one of whom is Senator Johnson’s Law Partner).  They will continue to threaten and menace.  Stand firm Pat - be as tough on them as you were on me.  To the judge - Let the primary go forward and let the community speak.  Do not be complicit in setting aside the accusations of voter fraud, forgery and conspiracy to disenfranchise our community of color.

I feel as though they just want what they want when they want it, they do not care about WE THE PEOPLE, once they are elected their promises go out the window. I also feel that they had their mind set like a brick wall. As I said before WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND.

Would it have been a bad idea to give people a choice? What about the almost 1000 true and honest people who signed for me? Is it right to just throw those people into the garbage? If this is justice, we should review every case to set people free. I thought the Democratic party was for the little guy with little money, I was wrong. We most vote to put Dean Skelos back as majority leader for Elmont and Long Island. Sad day for Elmont sad day for Democracy. This was all backed up by Johnson and Johnson. We know the truth and we'll vote the truth. Would it have been so hard for Senator Johnson to speak to us first before picking Mimi? We are a very intelligent group of people who could had a say in Democracy.

This writing is a graphic indictment of the disgusting tactics that Craig Johnson and his henchman use to intimidate people. I am embarassed to be represented by someone who continues to act like this towards my community. How about my STAR Rebate check that Senator Johnson robbed from me last year? Democrats must unite and send a message. We need to take this trash out.

I am so disenfranchised by the underhandedness of the people in the "know" and the people that have to suffer for it. It is disgusting and appalling that persons that reside in Elmont are treated like second class citizens and being subject to such hypocrisy. Are you kidding me.. this picture alone is an abomination to my senses. Do you feel that we as a community do not know any better or have any higher expectations of ourselves, our communities, and the people that represent us. I can speak for myself and tell you I'm highly educated, pay over 11 k in taxes a year and I have a voice and do not want to see stores and houses converted into churches, pathetic random potted plants in unkempt properties on main streets and so on...I do not see this in neighboring communities. I am a devout democrat and strongly believe in democratic policies, but trust me I am not a fool I will be voting republican the next local elections because at least they do not pretend to be something they are NOT...
