If you were to audit many school districts you would find the same kind of results. No excuses made here just the facts, I for one feel every dollar is important. You need to do forensic audits to get to the bottom. I would love to see forensic audits done for all taxing districts including local government. You would really get to see waste fraud and abuse. What Aubrey wrote above is correct that's how it went down but that business manager( name withheld) still went on and did it to another school district( name with held) Sad but true. As for the library 3 million dollar budget as Tom Madera husband of Joy madera thought he was reading about the library. Look at all library budgets and then ask the question: Why are other budgets 2 to 3 times higher than Elmont. If something is wrong for 3 million than everything is really wrong. We have so many checks and balances here in Elmont for 3 million and every penny is accounted for. Let's put it into prospective. School BUDGETS in Elmont is a 1/4 of a billion dollars for 180 day school year. Library is open every day except certain holidays for 3 million. You do the math, and we have all the same expense. MTA TAX, HEALTH CARE, PENSIONS , WAGES AND ON AND ON. EVEYONE IS WELCOME TO LOOK AT OUR BUDGET MONTH BY MONTH. One thing I do agree WITH: READ Aubrey's STATEMENT ABOVE ON BOARD MEMBERS. THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH MANY BOARDS ON LONG ISLAND INCLUDING LIBRARY BOARDS. NEPOTISIM IS JUST ONE HUGE PROBLEM AND MICRO- MANAGING IS THE ANOTHER NOT TO MENTION INCOMPETENCE.
